Ignea the Lava Dragon (idea) - for Marl1nde

 

A few too many things:

1. horns.  I have a limited imagination with horns, please feel free to change them.  They don't look particularly awesome.  By the time I came up with a new idea, I'd gone past the pencil stage and into the Sharpie stage.  *sigh*  Then I ran out of time for the contest and couldn't re-draw.

2. I started drawing too high up the page, so the wings got cut off.  They are supposed to look like they are made out of rope-y lava.  I don't think I really got that effect.  *shrugs*  Better luck next time, I guess.

3. I'm sorry it took so long.  *sigh*  Life... it happens... it gets in the way... especially when you don't make art your #1 priority.

4. Feet... Never been good at them... please excuse the poor excuses for toes. 

5.  I used this awesomeness as inspiration, then I looked up real life photos of lava to use as textures. meteorskies.deviantart.com/art…
(You can see how well that inspiration worked...*rolls eyes*)

6.  There is one wound on her side, no idea what happened... I put it there because I found a perfect lava reference picture for it and couldn't pass up the opportunity to use it.

7.  Over all, the effect is that she's supposed to look like she is animated lava. 

8.  Please modify this design.  I would love to see you change it into what you need for your character.

9.  Thank you for including me in your contest.  I hope I didn't butcher your character too badly.  As Ignea is your character, it's your choice what she should look like.  My only goal with this drawing was to inspire you to come up with your own awesome design.
